Validus Special Auto equipment is assisting Ukrainian responders in fighting large-scale wildfires in France.
A joint unit of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine has arrived in the Gironde department. This marks Ukraine’s first mission to assist an EU Member State under the EU Civil Protection Mechanism.
The deployment includes 70 rescuers and 15 units of specialized equipment.
It is an honor for us that our company’s fire tankers are among the vehicles deployed.
Their design and equipment are built to operate where access to fire is hindered by rugged terrain, off-road conditions, or a lack of infrastructure.
All-wheel drive and high off-road capability enable access to remote fire sites, while a substantial water reserve allows firefighting to begin immediately on-site, even without nearby hydrants.
A high-capacity pump ensures powerful water delivery, and a remotely controlled monitor keeps flames at bay from a safer distance for the crew.
During wildfires that rapidly shift direction and spread across vast areas, these capabilities prove crucial.
The operational experience gained by Ukraine during wartime now reinforces international rescue missions. We not only receive partner support but also contribute expertise and engineering solutions capable of saving lives.
