The gas rescue service vehicle is a specially equipped transport vehicle with a payload capacity of at least 1 ton, with a wheel formula of 4×2 or 4×4. It is designed for the rapid arrival at the scene of an emergency, transportation of specialized equipment and gear, and facilitation of emergency rescue operations involving the use of respiratory and skin protection equipment, including compressed air apparatus.

Functional capabilities of the gas rescue service vehicle include:

• Prompt and mobile delivery, via roads of all categories, of 3-5 personnel and specialized equipment to the site of emergency rescue operations.
• Informing the public about the emergency situation, transmitting special visual and auditory signals, verbal commands, and messages within a radius of up to 500 meters.
• Organization of radio communication in the VHF (UHF) range using a base radio station with a minimum range of 20 km, and portable radios with a minimum range of 3 km.
• Provision of first aid to the injured using medical equipment.
• Smoke extraction from gas-filled and smoke-filled premises.
• Illumination of the rescue operation sites.
• Provision of respiratory and skin protection equipment for rescuers.
• Refueling, servicing, and repair of respiratory and skin protection equipment, including compressed air apparatus.
• Organization of the operation and replacement of used respiratory and skin protection equipment, including compressed air apparatus.
• Conducting radiation and chemical reconnaissance.
• Organization and operation of a control checkpoint for the gas and smoke protection service.
