In accordance with the decision of the Head of the State Emergency Service, a special heavy radiochemical reconnaissance vehicle (SMRHR-V) arrived in Zaporizhzhia.

The vehicle is equipped with state-of-the-art instruments required for rapid analysis of radiation and chemical reconnaissance within a 10-kilometre radius, means for sampling and identification of unknown chemical compounds, as well as personal protective equipment and a satellite communication system with a Starlink high-speed Internet connection.

To ensure enhanced monitoring of the radiation and chemical situation, the vehicle is used in cooperation with other environmental monitoring entities.

This vehicle is especially useful when it is necessary to ensure constant monitoring of the areas adjacent to a nuclear power plant.
