Heavy Pyrotechnic Vehicle Based on MAN

The Heavy Pyrotechnic Vehicle is a specialized high-mobility transport vehicle designed for rapid deployment to locations where explosive ordnance (EO) has been detected. It enables the transportation of specialized equipment and tools, supports demining and explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) operations, and ensures the safe transportation of large-caliber explosive ordnance with a total weight exceeding 250 kg to the designated destruction site.

The HPV is manufactured on the basis of high-mobility off-road cargo and passenger vehicles. It is designed to ensure fast deployment of EOD teams, provide specialized tools and equipment, and safely transport explosive ordnance in challenging terrain conditions. Equipped with advanced protection systems and a hydraulic manipulator, the HPV offers enhanced safety and operational efficiency, making it indispensable for demining missions.

Functional Capabilities of HPV

  • Rapid transportation of 1–2 EOD specialists, specialized equipment, and tools to EO detection sites via roads of all categories
  • Reliable radio communications in VHF and HF bands:

— Base radio station: operational range up to 20 km

— Portable radios: operational range up to 3 km

  • Lifting reinforced concrete and steel structures, machinery, containers, and other heavy loads weighing up to 18,000 kg using pneumatic and hydraulic tools
  • Deformation, displacement, and controlled dismantling of structural elements
  • Cutting metal rods and reinforcement bars up to 22 mm in diameter
  • Expanding narrow passages in rubble and damaged structures using hydraulic and pneumatic tools
  • Establishing safety perimeters and securing hazardous zones during EOD operations
  • Illumination of operational areas using high-power LED projectors
  • Loading and unloading EO using a hydraulic manipulator
  • Transportation of small- and large-caliber explosive ordnance

Standard Equipment of HPV

  • Personal ballistic protection gear — per crew member
  • Respiratory and skin protective equipment — per crew member
  • Base radio station
  • Portable radios
  • GPS navigator
  • First aid medical kit
  • Two certified explosion-proof safes for transporting explosives and detonators
  • Set of compact hydraulic tools
  • Pneumatic toolset
